Which flowers are in season in…

Our Ready To Wear range and Flower Subscription Buckets uses seasonal flowers, the guide below is certainly not the finished article but hopefully will give you a clue as to what you can expect in your bouquet or bucket month by month.

March- April

Hello Tulips and Ranunculus! What could be better? Hellebores are still going strong and other spring bulbs like Daffodils and Fritillaries are also in full swing and accompanied by gorgeous spring blossom, such as Spirea, Forsythia and early Cherries. We also see scented wallflowers, honesty and cow parsley.

May- June

By May the first of the annuals and biennuals are in flower. Plants like Orlaya, Cornflowers, Campanula, Calendula, Corncockle, Foxgloves and Sweet Rocket are looking beautiful. Irises, Alliums, Sweet peas are looking fantastic at this time too with Larkspur and Snapdragons starting their season. Meanwhile the Peonies and Poppies are going strong by the end of May and Roses around June time. In the foliage corner, Ammis and early clematis climbers as well as blossoming fruits are looking splendid! We also see the start of our dried flowers, with Straw flowers and Stattice.

July- August

Most of the half hardy annuals are in full swing now. Beauties like Zinnias and Rudbekias are getting going, Cosmos and Scabious while Dahlias are joining Roses as focal flowers. As the season progresses, perennials such as Echinacea, Echinops and Grasses are providing more textural interest to arrangements. This year we are also growing Sunflowers, Chinese Asters and annual Chrysanthemums.

Sept- Oct

As Autumn begins, we see Dahlias take centre stage. In every shape, colour and size they steal our hearts at this time. We team them with Zinnias, Scabious and Grasses, Amaranthus and the last of the half hardy annuals. We also see the start of the perennial Chrysanthemum season which is quickly becoming our favourite flower. Autumnal foliage starts to make its way too plus our dried flowers.
